Tim Newton - Vet and Practice Owner
I qualified in 1984 in South Africa, and have lived in the UK since 1988. I joined Park Vets as a partner in 1996. I did a couple of years of large animal work in Namibia as a new graduate, but have been working with pets since arriving in the UK. My chief veterinary interests are skin problems, internal medicine, dentistry and rabbits. I have two cats, Pepsi and Peanut, who were abandoned when they were three weeks old. My other interests include music, reading, travel (I did two years around the world with my back pack many years ago), deserts, and scuba diving.
Peter Lennox - Vet
I have been a member of the Park team for since April 2005. I graduated from Edinburgh University in 1997, and then joined the first opinion side of a referral practice in Surrey. After two years I took a break and travelled the world, working in Australia for three months. On returning I worked as a locum before managing a branch surgery for a large veterinary group in east London for three years. My areas of interest are surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology and reptiles. I have two cats - Clyde and Pip (as she squeaks rather than meowing) who loves getting into lots of trouble. Outside of work I enjoy rock climbing, snowboarding, music and scuba diving.
Lois Wilkie - Vet (Saturdays)
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) with honours in July 2012, joining the team as a Saturday vet in December 2012. I worked for 6 months in a feline only clinic, I’m quite the feline fanatic, before completing a 3 year PhD in feline cardiology at the RVC. My areas of interest are cardiology and internal medicine. Outside of work, I enjoy long distance running and obstacle course racing, hiking, skiing and live music. I have three cats (of course) and an African Pygmy Hedgehog that was brought into the practice after being found abandoned in a garden.
Clair Newton - Practice Manager
Following careers in engineering and financial software design, I decided to change direction and completed a business degree in 2005. I am delighted to have joined the team as practice manager. Juggling a job, home as well as two children and two cats keeps me busy. I also enjoy travelling (when we can get away from the Practice), camping and walking, I sing in a local choir, and love escaping to the theatre.
Nicky Young - Senior Veterinary Nurse
Hi, I'm Nicky. After a rather long absence (12 years!) I returned to Park Vets in the summer of 2013. I started my nursing career back in December 1999 at The Park before leaving to continue my nurse training and qualify elsewhere. Fed up with all the 'paperwork' associated with a Head Nurse position, and wanting to get back to real nursing, I was delighted to be offered the position at Park. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, particularly dogs, and I am currently owed by two Schnauzers Ruby and Rex and a rather small in size but mighty in mind Yorkshire Terrier called Jake. I have also been adopted by Rory the cat and two Hermann tortoises.
Corinne Chennell - Veterinary Nurse and "Cat Advocate"
Hi, I'm Corinne. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2012 and was lucky enough to start at Park Vets in November 2014. I have two cats: my little old timer Toffee and my bouncy boy Cabbage, whom I rescued after he was attacked by a dog. I also have a tiny dwarf hamster called Stanley. In my spare time I like going to the cinema (especially if it involves popcorn!), and looking after my fur babies.
Megan Rockey - Student Veterinary Nurse
Hi, my name is Megan. I joined Park Vets in June 2014 as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant, and I'm now at college training to be a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. I have always had a passion for animals and always dreamed of a career working with them. I have previously worked on a farm in the Lake District helping with the lambing seasons for 4 years and also worked in a stables in West Sussex. I own two cheeky chinchillas called Tallulah (funny name for a boy) and Zuzu! I also have two kittens called Evie and Hank.
Louise Savage - Receptionist
Hi, my name is Louise and have now been working as a receptionist at the practice since June 2003 - gosh how time flies! At home I am the proud owner of two cats, Bernie and Sid. Oh - and did I forget the two children and three grandchildren? So between the animals and the kids, I don’t have a lot of time spare!
Sam Colwelll - Receptionist
Hello, I’m Sam and I’m very happy to be your newest receptionist! I am the proud owner of two dogs, two cats, two fish and two snakes – I must like even numbers! I absolutely love being surrounded by animals of all different shapes and sizes and it’s great to be able to play with them each day when they come in to visit us here at Park Vets! Outside of work I enjoy making music and exploring the great outdoors but am more than happy when curled up with a nice book and a cup of tea!.
